Lydia van Wijk

A home-grown New Viner and missionary, Lydia joined the staff at YWAM Townsville after completing her DTS.

After completing her DTS at YWAM Townsville in 2022, Lydia felt the call to continue on as staff in following God’s direction for her life. She has been helping engage young people in matters of faith through programs running in YWAM’s newly developed Youth Precinct.

Lydia also has opportunity, through a transitional home, to build relationship with young girls who come from abusive situations and have faced homelessness, Lydia continues to see God’s hand at work in their lives.

“A few months ago, I had the joy of seeing one of these girls accept Jesus into her heart and be baptised after many prayers, tears, and conversations. There have been several times now when these girls have experienced the Holy Spirit and have been able to experience what real love is for the first time.”
